In this video, Hertogin Galopje is the satirical name of an imaginary horse, living in a 3D world as a martyr for human sins. She takes us through two similar traditions of horse branding in two very contrasting cultures: narrated by an American cowboy on one hand and by a Mongolian tribe chief on the other. The horse is viewed through Hertogin Galopje as a symbol, a medium on which the human reflects his greed, lust and gluttony, after which they redeem themselves by using this symbol as a martyr. The horse is thus compared and reduced to mere symbols, used as a flag planted by humans in freshly conquered soil.
